Driver Training Simulation Software

            The simulation software has been developed to teach people the use of a vehicle and traffic rules. The following basic items are included in the simulator's software.

  1. Car physics
    1. Physical behavior of the vehicle used in the simulator software is correspondent with a real car.
    2. The stopping distance is the same as of a real vehicle.
    3. The stopping distance during snowy and rainy weather or on slippery floors vary, depending on ambient friction, when compared with normal weather.
    4. The yaw angle on twisty roads is, depending on the speed of the vehicle, correspondent with real cars.
    5. During uphill and downhill training the vehicle can back away.
  1. Vehicle dynamics
    1. Gear ranges of the vehicle used in the simulator software is correspondent with a real car.
    2. The engine power and speeding used in the software is the same as of a real car.
    3. The torque value of the vehicle used in the simulator software is correspondent with a real car.
    4. The break and suspension values used in the software is the same as of a real car.
    5. Gear ranges, speeding and breaking values of a car, truck, bus and tow truck can be customized according to simulation environment and user.
    6. The vehicle can sway according to the road friction. Because the grip of the tires to the road decrease during snowy and rainy weather, the vehicle is more likely to slide. Trainees can practice possible situations like this via the simulation software.
    7. The basic data about the vehicle during the simulation training (horsepower, gear ranges, torque information, suspension data, tires, front / rear / four wheel drive) can be configured via the software.
  1. Traffic
    1. The current traffic was simulated in the software. The vehicles and pedestrians are behaving within the traffic rules.
    2. The traffic lights turn on and off like in real life. Traffic lights show red, yellow and green indicators in predetermined time intervals.
    3. Traffic signs and road markers used in Turkey are present in the software.
    4. All traffic signs and markers on the software are placed into the scenarios according to traffic rules
    5. The vehicles in traffic comply with the following distance.
    6. Vehicles such as ambulance or police cars, that have traffic priorities, are available in the program.
    7. Speeding limits are available according to road types. (Urban, Country, Highway)
    8. Traffic conditions can be changed to less traffic, normal and dense traffic depending on the state of training.
  1. Reflex development
    1. Vehicles in traffic violate the traffic rules to a particular extend. Because of these traffic violations the trainee is able to develop reflexes and train his perception.
  1. Training scenarios
    1. The scenario in which the trainee is trained is recorded.
    2. The scenarios, that the trainee should participate in, can be followed.
    3. The data arising during the training scenario is recorded.
    4. There are different city scenarios.
    5. There is an uphill training.
    6. There is a training with uphill/downhill inclined roads.
    7. There are highway driving scenarios.
    8. Parking training is available.
    9. There are tracks for steering training.
    10. Intercity driving training is available.
    11. Inner-city driving training is available.
  1. Mirrors
    1. The left, right and rear view mirror are available in the program with real-life viewing angles. The trainee can drive the car while controlling the mirrors.
    2. Vehicles coming from behind, left or right can be controlled via the mirrors.
    3. The trainee can use the mirrors while parking the car.
    4. The distance rates of other vehicles and objects seen in the mirrors suit the actual distance.
  1. Weather Conditions
    1. Driver's training in sunny weather is available.
    2. The trainee can choose driver's training in rainy weather.
    3. Wiper arms are available in the program and these operate integrated with the equipment.
    4. Driver's training in snowy weather is available.
    5. Driver's training in foggy weather is available.
  1. Training duration and monitoring
    1. The trainee can obtain training with the simulator for a predetermined time.
    2. The obtained trainings, training dates and durations are being recorded.
    3. The trainings that have to be obtained are specified in advance.
    4. If training is missing, the system automatically gives out a warning.
  1. Training Time
    1. The applicant can train any time of the day.
    2. The night and day conditions are simulated via the program.
  1. Audible Alerts
    1. As soon as the ignition key is turned, the engine sound is clearly heard.
    2. The sound of the engine increases or decreases depending to the pressure applied to the gas pedal.
    3. Engine sounds and audio alters of other vehicles in traffic are present.
    4. Sounds of vehicles such as ambulance or police cars, that have traffic priorities, are available in the program.
    5. When the horn is pushed on the equipment a sound is available.
    6. Signal sounds are available when used.
    7. Sounds of vehicles such as ambulance or police cars, that have traffic priorities, are available in the program.
    8. Special sound effects are available in case of drifting, sudden braking or an accident.
    9. Instructive and informative audio alters for the trainee are available in the program.
    10. Nature sounds such as rain are available.
  2. Measurement and evaluation criteria.
    1. The system scores and evaluates according to the evaluation criteria of Annex 3 and Annex 4 of the specified instructions.
    2. The following specified criteria have to be measured and recorded during the simulation training in order to be later recorded.
      1. Accidents

      3. Lane-change error
      4. Roadway violation
      5. Shift the gear to neutral while driving
      6. Engine forcing
      7. Drifting
      8. Violation of following distance
      9. Stepping on the gas while the gear is in neutral

    3. The measurement and evaluation criteria are scored which determine the training score. This way the different trainings can be compared and the changes in the level of success can be measured.
  3. Reporting
    1. All data recorded during the simulation can be monitored via the name, surname or T.R. identification number.
    2. All training data can be reported if desired.
    3. All reports can be printed on A4 paper sheets.
    4. The training data can be analyzed graphically.
    5. All data obtained during the simulation can be analyzed, reported and examined.
  4. Remote surveillance
    1. The training of the applicant can be viewed by the trainer from another computer.
    2. The remote control system is working over a local network.
    3. The simulator can be controlled via a remote system.
  5. Visual System
    1. The XV-CH01 Driving training simulator can be used with  multiple monitors and projector system. 



VW Polo, Scania AB and Mercedes Citaro are simulated in the program. The software digitally processed actual vehicle factory data into the simulation and allow real conditions.

All of the above data can be customized. Vehicle physics are very important in the simulation system. Therefore the simulation system owns a structure that is capable to process the smallest details. The fact that the system is completely customizable enables the user to integrate additional features to the program.


The ANGRUP training simulators creates a virtual traffic environment during the training. A.I. vehicles are placed on this created traffic environment. The A.I. vehicles comply to 85% with the traffic rules and violate them to 15%. This way the training person is adapted to real life and simultaneously develops his reflexes.

The physics of the A.I. vehicles is completely processed by artificial intelligence engines of the software. Many details of the A.I vehicles such as drifting angles, braking or turning angles are available in the system.

All A.I. vehicles follow the rules of the traffic lights. They automatically perceive the nearest traffic light or user vehicle and develop a behavior that complies with the environment.

The A.I. vehicles perceive other cars and preserve the following distance. Since the vehicles own lamps, they give the right signals that need to be given in traffic. All A.I. vehicles have their own sound source. This way the engine sounds create a perception of traffic that we encounter during the day. The X-Vehicle Simulation system owns 20 different A.I vehicles.


The simulation system can simulate sunny, rainy, snowy or foggy weather and every hour of the day. Depending on weather conditions the visual and physical changes on the street are also reflected during the simulation. Also the high quality graphics and sound effects create a close perception of reality.

The light reflections arising due to the sun's relocation during the day can be seen on the front window and wipers or lights can be controlled if needed. Because the Angrup Simulation systems are integrated with real equipment, it is possible to see all changes on the equipment in real-time on the simulator.


Angrup simulation systems have been developed with low polygon models. The system owns over 100 realistic building models. It is also equipped with gas stations, parking lots, bus stops and all traffic signs and markers that can be found on Turkish roads.  All scenarios in the system have independent and different models.


There are 8 different preparation scenarios, 11 different training scenarios, 1 perception-reflex test scenario for the simulation car. In addition there are 8 different scenarios for trucks and buses. Users can be trained based on their skill levels with different scenarios.

The applicant enters the system by entering the applicant number. During the training the system records all mistakes in the background. As soon as the training is completed, the data is saved on the database and gives a report to the user about the training.


The Angrup Simulation software owns four different traffic settings. The user can train in any traffic setting of his liking. The A.I. vehicles are created around the user depending on the traffic setting. Thus a real traffic environment is created. Traffic options are listed below

The Angrup simulation software saves all data on its own database. The database can also be accessed by remote systems. A TCP and UDP network infrastructure has been used for data communication. The system can report the training data.


The simulation software can be controlled remotely. The trainer can see all technical information via another computer during the training in real-time and control the simulator remotely during training.


It is the control unit that enables the remote management of the system. Simulation devices are connected to the server on the control station via the local network. The control station can perform the below listed remote operations.
